Community Service Day
The Reach Out committee is incredibly excited to launch our Community Service Day, which will be on Saturday 7 September.
We live in challenging times on so many fronts, and it has been a year of great changes for us as South Africans, but through the light of Christ we always have hope. We believe that hope must be followed by action, and it is more important than ever to build bridges that unite us as a nation. We also believe that service is a critical way to build connectedness, especially at a grass-roots level where there is so much need.
In alignment with this belief, our theme this year is UNITY in CommUNITY. We invite you to a wonderful day with a broad spectrum of activities to suit every member of our congregation.
Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing our Reach Out ministries and the activities for the day. Please visit our table after services on Sunday, come and learn about our communities and, most importantly, SIGN UP!

Community Service Day Programme
Homeless Ministry
Soup Kitchen at Trinity
7.00am to 9.30am
For the early birds! Come and join us to prepare and serve a hot cooked meal to the homeless who come to our soup kitchen at Trinity.
Homeless Ministry
Tshepo Community Development Initiative
7.30am to 12.30pm
Join us closer to home at the Tshepo Community Development Initiative’s organic fresh produce market and coffee kiosk which runs Saturdays. We need volunteers to help set up and ensure that the day rune smoothly. Also grab a coffee and support Tshepo’s vendors.
Youth Ministry
Orange Farm Place of Hope

Come and join us for a joyful jamboree at the Orange Farm Place of Hope, with fun time game challenges and a magic memories picnic – inspiring faith and unity between our youth!
Environmental Ministry
Linden Area – Let’s Work Non-Profit Organisation
9.00am to 13.30pm
Come and join us in partnership with the Let’s Work Non-Profit Organisation team to clean up a park close to our church. Afterwards, we will provide the Let’s Work team with a hot meal.
Food Ministry
Claremont – Fred and Martie’s Soup Kitchen
9.00am to 13.30pm
Wear your old clothes and come join us to repaint 8 outside metal tables and benches used by the children at Fred and Martie’s soup kitchen in Claremont. There is also some other minor paintwork of other items in the playground.
Elderly Ministry
Montgomery Haven
10.00am to 13.00pm
Come and join us in hosting a morning tea at Montgomery Haven with the Fusion choir giving a performance. Foot tapping and singing along guaranteed!
Women’s Ministry
Soweto
13.30pm to 16.30pm
Come and join us in Soweto for a blend of insightful discussions and engaging activities led by skilled social workers, aimed at promoting mental wellness. To top it off, we’ll share a delightful tea and cake session with the community. Don’t miss out on this enriching experience!
Food Ministry
Trinity – Food Packing with Rise Against Hunger

Come and join us for an afternoon of food packing with Rise Against Hunger. This is a great way to meet your fellow congregation members and help fill some hungry bellies!
