This series is based on the book:  Breaking Through – How the Gospel speaks to our fragmented world.

The purpose of this sermon series is to help us celebrate our diversity. At the same time it gives us tools to live out our faith in a world filled with so much complexity.

The short devotional and narrative-driven book focuses on navigating cultural diversity, fostering unity, and applying the Gospel to a complex, divisive world

In a fragmented world marked by political polarization, social isolation, cultural divides, the breakdown of global cooperation, division of nations, competition, economic inequality, Jesus offers healing, wholeness, and unity to a broken and divided world. In Christ all things hold together (Colossians 1:17). Jesus heals the gap between humans and God, helping people stop fighting and start loving others.

Modern society splits into atomistic groups, where people huddle with those who think or look like them, shrinking common ground. The gospel breaks down tribal barriers by declaring all people equal at the foot of the cross, creating a diverse community that defies societal polarization.

This is an ‘appreciating differences’ series, focussing on Breaking through divisions in a fragmented world. Rather than treating division as a permanent state, this series champions creating spaces of belonging where individuals can be authentically seen and heard. Believers are called to scatter into a broken world not to dominate, but to proclaim a universal unity and healing through Christ.

As we look around our sanctuary and community, we are reminded that the Church is at its best when it truly reflects the beautiful, diverse kingdom of God. However, creating a space where everyone feels they belong doesn’t happen by accident. True belonging requires us to be deeply intentional about inclusivity and integration.

This series invites us to move beyond passive welcoming and join in actively building a church home where every wall is broken down.
