I am part of the growth of Trinity because I give sacrificially each month and use my gifts in service at Trinity.

This is how we Grow God’s Kingdom through ReachOut

Tshepo

Trinity supports the Tshepo Project, run in partnership with several local churches, to uplift and minister into the needs of marginalized individuals and families. The Project is involved in a number of initiatives which empower people through job creation, child aftercare, social work, skills development and job creation and a number of other initiatives.

This is a ministry which is ‘close to home’ for Trinity as many of the Project’s offerings take place in Windsor and Northcliff.

Ikageng Itireleng

Ikageng Itirileng AIDS Ministry is a registered community-based organization implementing HIV and AIDS prevention, care, and support programs in Orlando West, Soweto.

The organization has a long-standing track record of delivering psychosocial support services, adherence support, and linkage to care for children and adolescents living with HIV, in alignment with the National Strategic Plan (NSP) for HIV, TB and STIs. Boys’ and girls’ mentorship programs focus on resilience, behaviour change, and life skills.

Get involved: Serve on the Ikageng Board, or join the task team that offers service and ministry to the organisation.

Soup Kitchen

Connected to the Tshepo Project is a seven-day-a-week soup kitchen providing a hot meal and fellowship to the most marginalised in our community. This is a shared initiative with the Linden Fraternal of Churches.

Trinity is responsible for holding the soup kitchen on our premises on a Saturday morning. On a roster basis various Trinity Home Groups prepare soup, buy bread and serve this to the those who attend at 8.00am.

The Place of Hope, Orange Farm

The Place of Hope, Orange Farm (about 1 hour’s drive from Trinity) provides support, hope and a place to worship for the surrounding community. Trinity has walked alongside the Orange Farm community for over 20 years. We have been instrumental in planting and supporting the church in the community as well as many other initiatives over the years.

This year, we felt called to deepen our spiritual partnership with the community through a Table Talk event focused on hope, faith, and meaningful connection. The event created space for honest conversation, encouragement, worship, and shared hope within the community. Other focus areas for this year include starting up a library and homework assistance classes for children in the community.

Zandspruit

This is one of Trinity’s newest areas of ministry, which began with a request in January 2025 to provide the Apostolic Acts Church in Zandspruit with Children’s bibles. The church has grown to about 100 members over the past few years and currently meets at the Emthonjeni Community Centre (about 16km from Trinity). In October 2025, for Community Service Day, a group visited Zandspruit. Since then, our relationship with the church has blossomed.

To assist with church leadership development, Trinity will offer discipleship training to about 50 community pastors and leaders using the ‘Missing Jesus – Finding the Shepherd we lost’ resources.

As we continue building a relationship with this community, on the first Sunday of each month Trinity members visit the church and every 2nd month a meal is provided after the service.

Uzima

Founded by Carol Dyanti and formally registered in 2023, the organization is based in the Ezimbuzini informal settlement in Orlando West, Soweto (about 18km from Trinity). It is dedicated to addressing diverse social issues for the well-being of the community and offers the following strategic lines of support to individuals: Education, Psychosocial, Heath, Nutritional and Administrative support.

Get involved: Uzima are looking for professionals to join their Management Board team; join a Task Team to get involved with ministry and service to this organization.

Mozambique Mission Outreach

Trinity has provided support to a community in the Nhandimo Village in Chidenguele in Mozambique for many years. In the past regular mission trips occurred, however for the past few years this has not been possible due to various factors. Our relationship with the community has continued and we seek to assist in whatever way we are able.

Community Service Day

This is an annual event which creates opportunities for the congregation to serve practically, build relationships, and experience the heart of ReachOut firsthand.

Holiday Club

Our annual week of fun for primary school kids is open to all children in the Linden and surrounds area during the Easter school holidays. Fun and fellowship happens when about 30 young people/leaders are joined by about 130 children – who attend from 8.00am-1.00pm – get together each morning for worship, fun activities and learning about God.

Pop-Up Play Place

An annual pop-up event for children and families. In recent years we have become aware of three things during school holidays:

  • children have nowhere to go for fun and fellowship,
  • entertainment is expensive and often far away,
  • children would love an activity to do.

Out of this was born the Pop-Up Play Place.

Youth WOW! Week

Every year, Trinity invites all youth in Linden and wider area to join us for a week of free fun and interesting evenings of games, worship, activities, and food.

Other Weekly and Ongoing Outreach

Trinity have a number of other ReachOut projects which have been part of the fabric of our community for many years, made no less special by their ongoing nature, which touch the lives of many:

Sewing Classes

Teaching these important skills every Thursday afternoon at 2.00pm to anyone in the community who would like to learn a new skill. Many of the participants use these skills to generate additional income for themselves.

Wool Bank

Our Wool Bank exists to bring together those who have or can supply wool, and those who can and have time to knit or crochet. The Wool Bank is available throughout the year. The knitted items are shared with beneficiaries through our annual Winter Warmth drive.

Senior Citizens

A group of dedicated Trinity ladies host a seniors tea on the second Wednesday of each month for fellowship, tea and fun. It is open for all seniors to attend.

Food Pantry

The ReachOut portfolio contributes monthly to a food pantry, administered by the Pastoral Care portfolio, to enable them to assist in times of financial need.

Ncedanani (Helping Each Other) Ministry

This is a newly established project which provides support to a group of about 15 caregivers who look after 175 individuals in Orlando East.

Prison Ministry

Trinity runs a successful weekly ministry team in both Maximum and Mediums Security sections of Leeuwkop Prison, where we offer the ‘Missing Jesus’ course. In this ministry we seek to awaken Kingdom Consciousness Living in both the team and the participants.

Serve with us:

  • Partner in prayer for the various projects and communities we serve.
  • Support practical appeals and outreach initiatives (eg, Winter Warmth Drive)
  • Participate in organised events such as Community Service Day.
  • Become part of a task team and offer hands-on support in specific areas of involvement or projects.
  • Join the portfolio and help shape, lead, and coordinate meaningful ministry initiatives.
